Options For Your Security System – May 23rd 2010
When deciding on a new security camera system, many of our customers opt to mix and match different “ala carte” items in order to achieve the highest level of security possible for their home or business. It helps to familiarize oneself with different security options on the market when creating a custom surveillance system. While it may make sense to have the most robust system available on the market, it may be costly and certain security elements have multiple functions.
Below are a few security items that you should consider before installing a security camera system:
1) Motion Detectors: Motion detectors can be used both indoors and outdoors and be attached to an alarm system. If you are sleeping, or not situated on the monitored premises, this can be handy to inform property owners if there are trespassers or a break-in is taking place.
2) Glass Break Sensors: Sensors can be placed on or around windows that detect both breaks in the glass and the sound of glass shattering. This too can be attached to an alarm system.
3) Magnetic Contacts: Placing contacts on windows or doors can inform property owners that there was a breech in security in an area at any given point in time. This can be helpful in pin-pointing an office thief or learning more about the security breech based on an intrusion from a party that may have access to restricted areas.
4) Panic Buttons: Strategically placed buttons will contact your security management company and contact local authorities. A panic button may save your life or the life of a loved one.
5) Smoke Detectors: When attached to your security system, smoke detectors can be helpful to send the police and fire department to your home or business in the event of an emergency.
